We are home from West Cork Rally.

      admin, March 20, 2025March 20, 2025

Well, we are all home from Cork Motor Club’s fantastic West Cork Rally. Well, those that headed down are all home. Others, who shall remain nameless didn’t bother to go down (for shame, for shame). Damien and Macca went down to give Owen Murphy a hand and went doing gravel…

      Another detailing brush sacrificed…..

      admin, February 2, 2025February 2, 2025

I embarked on a slightly overdue task and cleaned out the inside of the Fiesta last night. It was slightly overdue as I don’t think it was done since the Bushwacker, judging by the Asda water bottles I found under the navigators seat. Anyway, I commenced into the task with…

Home from the Historic Lakes Adventure …..

      admin, November 30, 2024November 30, 2024

Well, the gang decided to head the Historic Lakes for a small bit of a look. Paul Casey was down to compete ably guided by Damien’s navigator, Vincy. We were going down to support and also to see how that Finnish guy with the father that drove for Peugeot 20…

      Shed update……

      admin, November 10, 2024November 10, 2024

Well, it’s about time that I fired up an update on what’s happening in the shed to the “fleet”….. First, the Fiesty. There was a slight “accident” when Damien jacked it up and the Reigers fell out. Well, they may have been “helped” out as Damien was being Damien and…

      It’s a slow news day….

      admin, October 20, 2024October 20, 2024

It’s a slow news day here in Red Mist world. We’ve nothing to report. Bitzy is still abandoned in the corner. We still haven’t bothered to look at it after Clare Forest Rally. The Fiesty has joined it in the other corner. There’s nothing on the radar for us to…

Bushwhacker over and a successful day it was….

      admin, September 21, 2024September 21, 2024

Well, we are loading up here in Omagh after the days trials and tribulations of the Bushwhacker. A successful day it was too. Macca finished fourth in class (48th overall) and grabbed max championship points. Damien finishes eight in class and was only a few seconds off seventh! Right now,…

      Start of the road trip.

      admin, September 19, 2024September 19, 2024

Well, it’s the start of the road trip up north for the Bushwhacker. At the moment, there’s last minute packing (Macca would forget his head if it wasn’t attached to the rest of him) and inputting directions into Google Maps. We are numbers 85 and 88 so do wave when…

Roll on the whacking of the bush…..

      admin, September 17, 2024September 17, 2024

Its almost time for the Red Mist venture “up north” for the Bushwhacker. In a change to last year’s event, carrots are off the menu as there’s no night stages this year (boo hoo!). However, it does mean that Bitzy won’t get to munch on plastic coated copper this year……

Another very successful day in the woods….

      admin, August 11, 2024August 11, 2024

We are home from the Cork Motor Club’s Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally with more silverware. Also, it was a very successful first run for Damien’s new Fiesta. The gang of people hanging onto the spanners were Joe, Mike and Daniel providing actual technical ability. They were ably assisted by…

Final preparations for Cork Forest Rally

      admin, August 10, 2024August 10, 2024

Final preparations took place last night for the Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally with two buses loaded and ready. Damien somehow managed to sweet talk Joe into providing a VIP service so Joe took the Fiesty away last night. Joe is even taking the car through scrutiny and all. Damien…

Well the Cork Motor Club forestry rally sprint was a massive success for all 3 of our competing crews on Tuesday. All arrived home with no damage and after a fantastically close battle together. Well done to Damien O Donovan and Vincent Goggin in their 1600 R2 fiesta, on taking possession of the stunning and brand new redmist motorsport trophy, which will hereafter go with the fastest redmist crew on any event more than one of us compete. They were followed only a few seconds back by 2 Subaru gc8s. One was the father and son team of Jason coulter and Ryan Coulter. Jason not having competed in 4 years and Ryan never having competed. Joe shinnors jnr and Patrick O Sullivan next in a constantly self developed Subaru were next after a day of on the limit effort.the rest of us checked things which we knew didn't need checking and all of us ate the sandwiches and tea wherever they were available. Anna Hartnet, Lorraine Coulter and Fiona o brien kept everyone going in spite of mentioning they were cold now and then. Darragh Murphy for his help all day.Well done all. ... See MoreSee Less

Merry Christmas to all of our friends in the world of motorsport. We are back out at Cork Motor Club Boggeragh Rally sprint. Damien is out in Car 43. Come along on the 29th of December to watch us try to work off the turkey....Sneaky edit after someone pointed out I'm an idiot for forgetting Jason Coulter is competing also guided by Ryan. It's Ryan's baptism of fire in the passenger seat. Sorry Mr Coulter... ... See MoreSee Less
