Another detailing brush sacrificed….. admin, February 2, 2025February 2, 2025 I embarked on a slightly overdue task and cleaned out the inside of the Fiesta last night. It was slightly overdue as I don’t think it was done since the Bushwacker, judging by the Asda water bottles I found under the navigators seat. Anyway, I commenced into the task with the usual mix of misguided hopes and complete blind luck. During a critical stage of the task (attempting to climb out of the back while disentangling myself from the roll cage), I was reminded of the tale of the detailing brush. A while back, I was attempting to remove 27.34kg of mud from inside Bitzy. I was under a bit of time pressure and had to leave. I left my third favourite detailing brush and a bottle of Bilt Hamber Surfix for “someone” to use to finish the job. Well, turns out the detailing brush went missing and couldn’t be found. After two weeks, someone spotted a familiar brush handle standing up in a tub of grease. When questioned, a comment of “Geez that’s fantastic for putting on the grease. Any sign of the missing brush?” Anyway, it was the end of that detailing brush for cleaning. It was relegated to the grease brush. Why the long story? I was reminded of the fate of the old third favourite detailing brush last night when I spotted it, still standing in that tub of grease. I had to promote my fifth detailing brush to rally car duties but alas, it wasn’t quite able to cope. Just as I broke out the box of new brushes, a cry went up. “Ah, new grease brushes I see…” Anyway, why the reminiscing? Turns out we were in the shed, starting into the preparation for the next adventure. Damien wanted the inside of the Fiesta clean as he’s too “precious” to get into a dirty car and Bitzy still hasn’t had its engine bay cleaned (hangs head in shame). Cars Damien Macca
