Home from the Historic Lakes Adventure …..

Well, the gang decided to head the Historic Lakes for a small bit of a look. Paul Casey was down to compete ably guided by Damien’s navigator, Vincy. We were going down to support and also to see how that Finnish guy with the father that drove for Peugeot 20 years ago would get on.

The WhatsApp was running hot for a few weeks beforehand with CianDon somehow being the linchpin in the organisation.

Things were going swimmingly until Vincy got sick and had to cry off on Thursday beforehand. So, Damien being Damien stepped up and stepped into Vincy’s seat for Paul (multi-talented he is….)

That being said, preparations continued with the fitting of lights to Macca’s pickup.

As the rally was Saturday, we all arrived Friday and parked up.

Friday night, the fire was lit, somehow a firework display was started, the BBQ was lit and a chair was sacrificed….

As the “webmaster” (web idiot more like it), Macca, Colin and CianDon was there, an unofficial National Forest Championship Prize giving for second in class 11F took place.

As for the actual rally, I decided to do something I haven’t done in years and actually break out the SLR and take a few saps….

Yep, that’s the Finnish guy, Rovanpera catching air. The rest of my photos are still in the camera, where they’ll probably stay for months before I get to processing them…..

Naturally, CianDon took much more dramatic photos….

As for the actual rally, of course Paul and Damien finished. Sixth in class is where I think they finished. We’ll hear of any dramas in due course.
