Ah, how did we get second in class?

      admin, May 11, 2025May 11, 2025

Well, Damien and Vincy are back from their jaunt around the woods and somehow, they got second in class 11F!

Oh what a fun day it was and even I’ve no idea how Jason was presenting the awards to Damien and Vincy……

The day didn’t start too well. Thanks to a poor seeding, cars were caught and somewhere between 30 and 45 seconds were lost on stage 1. That put the lads on the back foot from the start. The only solution, knuckle down and drive!

Thanks to CianDon for the photo of Damien & Vincy in action. Why CianDon was taking pictures of us we’ll never know.

Thanks to some fastest stage times (for class 11F), the fightback started. We fought back to second in class but in typical Red Mist fashion, a wing mirror was sacrificed (again!). In this case, it was that horrid green wing mirror cover so it may be no loss….

It wasn’t just Damien and Vincy out in class 11F. Colin Neligan was also out for a day’s jaunt and brought it home also.

      Again I’m “borrowing” one of CianDon’s photos…..

There’s a “theory” floating around on WhatsApp as to how the Fiesta did so well. It’s something to do with the lack of Ian’s at the event. Ya, some theory alright….

So, what’s next? There’s a few small jobs to do in the shed. There’s some holidays to have and then get ready for Cork Forest Rally….

The admin went for a wander “up country” to spectate at the Birr Autocross yesterday. Other Red Mist members were supposed to come along for a look but some farm work had to be done instead. Thanks to having “friends” in the Birr club, I didn’t make it past the…

Things actually move in the shed….

      December 19, 2025December 19, 2025

We cam confirm that the rumour that nothing moves in the Red Mist shed isn’t true. The reason for saying this is that the Fiesta went from one side of the shed and onto the ramp. As for the reason, would you believe that the car is due out shortly….

Well the Cork Motor Club forestry rally sprint was a massive success for all 3 of our competing crews on Tuesday. All arrived home with no damage and after a fantastically close battle together. Well done to Damien O Donovan and Vincent Goggin in their 1600 R2 fiesta, on taking possession of the stunning and brand new redmist motorsport trophy, which will hereafter go with the fastest redmist crew on any event more than one of us compete. They were followed only a few seconds back by 2 Subaru gc8s. One was the father and son team of Jason coulter and Ryan Coulter. Jason not having competed in 4 years and Ryan never having competed. Joe shinnors jnr and Patrick O Sullivan next in a constantly self developed Subaru were next after a day of on the limit effort.the rest of us checked things which we knew didn't need checking and all of us ate the sandwiches and tea wherever they were available. Anna Hartnet, Lorraine Coulter and Fiona o brien kept everyone going in spite of mentioning they were cold now and then. Darragh Murphy for his help all day.Well done all. ...

Merry Christmas to all of our friends in the world of motorsport. We are back out at Cork Motor Club Boggeragh Rally sprint. Damien is out in Car 43. Come along on the 29th of December to watch us try to work off the turkey....Sneaky edit after someone pointed out I'm an idiot for forgetting Jason Coulter is competing also guided by Ryan. It's Ryan's baptism of fire in the passenger seat. Sorry Mr Coulter... ...
