      Curse this fine weather…

      admin, May 20, 2025May 20, 2025

Well dang and blast this fine weather we are having at the moment. It means we have zero motivation to go fettling with cars in a shed when it’s so lovely outside. This weather means loads of BBQs were had but alas, no pictures. We were too busy eating. Also,…

Ah we should have paid more attention in school…..

      admin, May 9, 2025May 9, 2025

In not surprising news, we learned last night that we should have paid more attention in school. Damien, for some ungodly reason, decided to “check the tracking”. That resulted in Daniel measuring things, muttering numbers and doing maths on the back of a page of pacenotes. We heard the mutter…

      And back to the shed…

      admin, April 19, 2025April 19, 2025

We are back in the shed after the Moonraker adventure with the little Fiesta. I don’t know why it’s called little when it’s a lot more spacious inside than Macca’s Civic. Why are some things called “little” or “small” when they are measurable not? Also, why is a Wagon Wheel…

We’re home after the fun at the Moonraker

      admin, April 12, 2025April 13, 2025

Well, we made it home after the days fun in the Moonraker forest rally. The Fiesta survived and actually completed a stage or three under its own steam…. Things were going beautifully (as the video shows) on stage 1 until just after this video was shot. Damien caught the car…

      Unusual Last-minute Moonraker Preparations

      admin, April 11, 2025April 11, 2025

There was some rather unexpected “last minute” jobs that had to be done before the Moonraker Forest Rally on Saturday. Somehow, they involved fitting a sump guard to a Yaris…. I have no idea why that had to be done. As it was miles above my technical ability, I just…

      Its official. I can’t fit into a Fiesta…..

      admin, April 5, 2025April 5, 2025

“Preparations” (and I use that word in the loosest possible fashion) are underway in the shed as the Moonraker is coming up fast. In a slight change, it’s not Bitzy that’s leading the Red Mist charge, it’s the Fiesta! Bitzy is still sulking in the corner as “someone” still hasn’t…

      Things are stirring…..

      admin, March 2, 2025

Despite the complete lack of updates here, things have been stirring in the background. The outlines of plans are being made. Not surprisingly, they involve rallying in some sort. Things should kick off after the West Cork rally and should involve some forestry rally of some sort. Also, not surprisingly,…

      Another detailing brush sacrificed…..

      admin, February 2, 2025February 2, 2025

I embarked on a slightly overdue task and cleaned out the inside of the Fiesta last night. It was slightly overdue as I don’t think it was done since the Bushwacker, judging by the Asda water bottles I found under the navigators seat. Anyway, I commenced into the task with…

Merry Christmas (plus some late night oil burning)

      admin, December 24, 2024December 24, 2024

Well, it’s that time of the year, where the turkey gets stuffed with Castrol RS and Santa’s sleigh gets a welded diff. It’s CHRISTMAS! As it’s Christmas, that can only mean one thing. The Cork Motor Club’s Boggeragh Sprint is on in a few days. The 29th is far enough…

      Shed update……

      admin, November 10, 2024November 10, 2024

Well, it’s about time that I fired up an update on what’s happening in the shed to the “fleet”….. First, the Fiesty. There was a slight “accident” when Damien jacked it up and the Reigers fell out. Well, they may have been “helped” out as Damien was being Damien and…

Well the Cork Motor Club forestry rally sprint was a massive success for all 3 of our competing crews on Tuesday. All arrived home with no damage and after a fantastically close battle together. Well done to Damien O Donovan and Vincent Goggin in their 1600 R2 fiesta, on taking possession of the stunning and brand new redmist motorsport trophy, which will hereafter go with the fastest redmist crew on any event more than one of us compete. They were followed only a few seconds back by 2 Subaru gc8s. One was the father and son team of Jason coulter and Ryan Coulter. Jason not having competed in 4 years and Ryan never having competed. Joe shinnors jnr and Patrick O Sullivan next in a constantly self developed Subaru were next after a day of on the limit effort.the rest of us checked things which we knew didn't need checking and all of us ate the sandwiches and tea wherever they were available. Anna Hartnet, Lorraine Coulter and Fiona o brien kept everyone going in spite of mentioning they were cold now and then. Darragh Murphy for his help all day.Well done all. ... See MoreSee Less

Merry Christmas to all of our friends in the world of motorsport. We are back out at Cork Motor Club Boggeragh Rally sprint. Damien is out in Car 43. Come along on the 29th of December to watch us try to work off the turkey....Sneaky edit after someone pointed out I'm an idiot for forgetting Jason Coulter is competing also guided by Ryan. It's Ryan's baptism of fire in the passenger seat. Sorry Mr Coulter... ... See MoreSee Less
