We’re home after the fun at the Moonraker admin, April 12, 2025April 13, 2025 Well, we made it home after the days fun in the Moonraker forest rally. The Fiesta survived and actually completed a stage or three under its own steam…. Things were going beautifully (as the video shows) on stage 1 until just after this video was shot. Damien caught the car in front and was stuck behind him for 4km. To top it off, the coolant decided not to stay in the radiator any more. A small stone helped it escape by puncturing the radiator. Damien and Vincy got the car to the end of the stage where they were rescued and towed into service. In an unusual move for us, we decided to attempt to fix it. Well, Joe decided not to give in and dragged the rest of us along. In a flurry of spanners, the radiator was removed and Joe sent people scurrying around to find a replacement radiator. Typically, one couldn’t be located in service despite a few people saying they had a spare back in the shed, two hours away. The search continued. So, rather than leave everything to hear if a rad could be found, the rest of the car was fettled for going back out for Rally 2, just in case. No sooner was that done when we got a message from Daniel. He found one in a scrapyard and will be back in 15 minutes. Right, back in action! The “new” (previously loved more likely) rad was crammed back in so fast that time for tea was found…. That was the end of the drama. The Fiesta flew around the rest of the stages and proudly made it’s way up onto the trailer. As for other news, I’m saying nothing about Joe getting the web idiots fleece caught when closing the bonnet, the 27 questions about where’s the gloves & balaclava or about the random parking jobs. Thanks to all for helping and roll on the next one! Cars Damien Rallies
Unusual Last-minute Moonraker Preparations April 11, 2025April 11, 2025 There was some rather unexpected “last minute” jobs that had to be done before the Moonraker Forest Rally on Saturday. Somehow, they involved fitting a sump guard to a Yaris…. I have no idea why that had to be done. As it was miles above my technical ability, I just… Read More
Another detailing brush sacrificed….. February 2, 2025February 2, 2025 I embarked on a slightly overdue task and cleaned out the inside of the Fiesta last night. It was slightly overdue as I don’t think it was done since the Bushwacker, judging by the Asda water bottles I found under the navigators seat. Anyway, I commenced into the task with… Read More
